Last Sunday we celebrated Charlie's birthday. We thought we should do it early because we didn't know what the baby's schedule would be. We talked it over with Charlie, and he assured us that he wouldn't be upset at having to do his birthday early.
You can see from this (and all other) picture that he is happy to be six. Rebecca actually made the cake pretty much all by herself.

One of the only things he'd asked for a lot was a scooter. Charlie rarely asks for toys on his birthdays, instead he always wants things like flashlights or umbrellas. This is the first birthday in 3 years that he hasn't gotten a flashlight. He likes riding the scooter around the neighborhood, but the combination of the heat, humidity, and helmet make him very sweaty.

He's such a big 6 year old! He just looks so mature and Charlieish. I love and miss him and can't wait to squeeze his guts out!!
