Ooh-rah

This morning we all tumbled out of bed and went to the primary pancake breakfast in our pajamas. It was fun and entertaining. Rebecca was a little embarrassed to go out in public in her pjs but the rest of them didn't mind it one bit.
We were asked to help clean the church this Saturday so after all the fun me and the girls loaded up the janitor cart and got to work on the bathrooms while Dan and the boys vacuumed classrooms. The work was done in no time at all because there were 3 other families doing it with us.
After all that we dragged the kids home and they all did their big jobs! They were such good sports. I probably wouldn't have made them do it if they'd whined enough, but they came home and got right to work and were done in record time. I did help them a little more than I normally do since I didn't have a breakfast to clean up, but I was so impressed that they weren't whining.
After all that work we chilled for a little bit (watching you tube) and then decided we all needed a reward. We took all the kids to Cici's which is just good fun and good food. I feel like I could just keep eating when I go there, and never stop. I don't know what it is but this pregnancy makes me appreciate Cici's pizza buffet more than ever.
Then we headed up to Quantico to go to the National Marine Corps Museum. We surprised all the kids and they were so excited. It really is an impressive museum and like so many in DC it's completely free!
In the gallery they have some impressive displays one of which includes a Sikorsky helicopter. The kids were proud to see a helicopter like their Grandpa sells.
This is a display of the first marine invasion during WWII when they began using these land and sea tanks to move troops onto a beach. Things like this made me cry because it's amazing to think of their bravery and sacrifice.
The exhibits were divided into the different wars and each exhibit had the weapons used on display. This tank is from the Vietnam War and Adrian was really impressed. He couldn't believe the number of guns on this tank. He also appreciated the soldier in the corner helping to bandage an injured civilian.
Part of the Vietnam exhibit included a chamber that simulated a helicopter landing in a battlefield. It was really loud and you could feel the blades moving.
When you were told to "MOVE OUT" there was a battlefield scene and the room was really hot like it would have been in Vietnam.
There was an aircraft on display that can lift off like a helicopter. I was pretty impressed. I'm not sure the kids really got it but they still loved seeing all of the airplanes.
Just outside the museum is a really great park and the weather has been gorgeous today. They could have stayed here for the rest of the evening, but Dan is having trouble with his allergies. We stayed as long as he could stand it but after all that fun the kids we're pretty worn out too.

Wow! What a day! How could you pack all of that into one day! I sure hope that you feel well tomorrow. I'm a little worried, I have to admit. Please, no migraines. I'm so happy that you had such a fun, eventful, and educational day:) I'm sorry that Dan's having allergy trouble. That's a sensitive topic at our house. Poor Dan.

Oh my goodness. I have some swing pictures with our cute kids in them. . . And I love your museum pictures. I feel like we are in a real live exhibit living on Kadena Air Base. :) I hope you are feeling better and taking good care of yourself. Will you be home in the summer? We'll be in Tooele for a family reunion on July 3rd. Fingers are crossed that we will get to see our Blodgett cousins. :) Love you!
